THE SKY SLUG

Mark Frasier is editor of Haunted Scotland. He wrote to me and very generously passed on, not only details of his own personal UFO encounter, but that of several other unrelated sightings from the East Yorkshire area, too.Mark informs me that he  has nicknamed his own UFO sightng  the 'Sky Slug' . He encountered it  whilst  travelling on top of a double-decker bus down Hall Road on the Orchard Park Estate. Unfortunately Mark cannot quite recall the exact time and date of his UFO sighting. He reckons, however, that it was probably sometime during the late 70's. A time, incidentally, of several other UFO sightings in the East Yorkshire area.

"I saw a funny bright egg in the sky," says Mark. "Or rather it was pear shaped. I cannot  judge the size, but it was big…pale red and orange…travelling across the light, Summers evening sky. The strangest thing of all is that it kept changing shape as it ambled along. It was like a giant floating light bulb."
Mark is adamant that the object he saw was not a cloud. He was rather more  put in mind of some "gigantic life form then a more 'conventional' nuts and bolts type of UFO."  Strangely , amazing though Mark's encounter was, he distinctly remembers his "mind turned to other matters" has he watched it.
According to Mark the Hull Daily Mail ran an article on the 'Sky Slug UFO' and several other people came forward to say that they, too, had seen the same or a very similar object. One man even claimed to have seen the 'Sky Slug' close up whilst he had been working late in his garage somewhere on the outskirts of Hull.

As an interesting footnote to this encounter, whilst chatting to a work colleague some years later, Mark learned that his friend perhaps saw the same  'Sky Slug' , too, whilst travelling down Noddle Hill Way on the Bransholme estate.Mark's colleague also described the 'Sky Slug' as changing its shape before accelerating away and disappearing out of view within a couple of seconds.
